Mountain Trekking in the Ricefields
This full day excursion is ideal for the retreat leader who would like to include an authentic experience of the ‘real Bali’.
Your group will visit an oasis of peaceful green tranquility, where refreshing spring water flows while being surrounded by stunning views over the rice fields.
It will take approximately a 90 minutes drive from southern Bali and between 90 minutes to 2 hours from Ubud.
You will be greeted by your guides to commence your 3 hours hike. Various trails may be proposed according to the intensity you would like to participate in, which makes it a great option for fitness retreats who would like to combine a bit of a work out.
The guides are will articulated and are very informative in teaching about the local plants and showing which ones are edible.
Not only will your group view stunning scenery and participate in a good walk, but you will be able to watch local farmers tending the ride fields like something you’d see in national geographic.
While your group is on their trek the delightful staff will prepare your group’s meal by using home grown organic fruit and veggies which will be served in the restaurant surrounded by gorgeous views.
After lunch, an area will be provided to be able to change in your swimsuit to enjoy the nearby waterfall and pools with a constant flow of mountain fresh spring water.
A perfect experience to ease into after a long walk through the local forests abundant with healing plants and food.
The pool provides clean, cool spring water pouring over the edge of a 12 meter drop.
It does occasionally rain in this area and other activities as a backup may be provided if needed, such as basket making, kite making, wood carving, flute making, or a tour around the gardens with explanation of perma-culture.
Separately, additional activities may be offered if scheduled, such as learning the secrets of making coconut oil, participating visiting the local school, taking a class with the local children traditional dance, music or SILAT class.
A massage session in the outdoor bale can be provided for participants that may not desire to participate in the trek.
The staff is all recruited from local villages so the money directly benefits the immediate communities. This is a memorable experience, surely not to be forgotten!
